DVD + R is one type of blank DVD found here at DVDs.com. The term DVD+R is used to define the type of disc it is. This refers to a once-writable blank DVD. This is an optical disc with 4.7GB of storage capacity (slightly more than the DVD-R formatted disc). Double layer technology can also be used with the DVD+R format which doubles the storage capacity but these DVDs are referred to as DVD+R DL.
With DVD+R discs you can only write to them once. However this makes them a great choice for data storage, video or audio storage and files. The DVD+R is a spin-off of the DVD-R.
