DVD + RW is one type of blank DVD that is available for your personal home use. This is the name that is used to refer to the standard of optical discs. It is one of several different types of DVD, most of which we carry here on our site. It can hold up to 4.7GM in one disc and is best used for storing music, video or other data.
DVD+RW is a favorite type because it supports random write access. This means that you can add to or remove certain parts of data on the disc without erasing the whole disc and starting over. The disc is designed to allow you to do this up to about 1000 times. You can use the DVD+RW very similar to how you could use a floppy disc. This is different than the DVD-RW which has to be completely erased before it can be rewritten.
There are various ways in which you can make use of the DVD+RW discs found on our site. They are inexpensive platforms for daily disc backups, storing and changing multiple recordings, etc. They are not as commonly used for videos and other things that you will want to keep permanently or as commonly used in computer use as the other DVD types.
