Zohan Dvir (Adam Sandler) is the best Israeli Special Forces soldier around. He can tackle an entire mission by himself. He’s famous for his skills and charm. But he’s tired of killing people and such, he dreams of becoming a hair stylist in New York City. However the government won’t let him go and his family disapproves so he fakes his own death and sets it up so he looks like he has been killed by the second best commando around, The Phantom (John Turturro).
Zohan goes to New York City and becomes a hair stylist while undercover. He becomes famous for his back room special services that the women love because of his extra large package. He even starts to form a romance with the salon owner. But someone recognizes him and exposes who he really is. So Zohan must step up and protect those he cares about in order to save them even if it means losing his dream.
Typical Adam Sandler humor. Must say that this one made me laugh more than most have in the past few years. Some of the antics and jokes are so stupid you honestly just have to laugh. His dancing is probably the best part. Zohan has a signature little hip thrusting dance he does and Adam Sandler does it far too well. It’s hysterical.
The accent, strange hair situations and some of the comments are silly but fun. The entire movie is corny but it was obviously meant to be. This is one to see with your buddies or your best pals who enjoy dumb jokes and pokes at cultural and social norms. Another successful Adam Sandler movie.
